Sessions in La Pedrera - Casa Milà

In this two sessions you can get a first-hand look at Gaudí's architectural work and his inspiration from the elements of nature. You can also discover the best tips for making your own field notebook. In addition, you can learn about scientific communication and discover different communication formats that you can put into practice in your presentation for the closing ceremony of the program at MónNatura Pirineus.

Session in Montserrat - Can Maçana

In this Saturday session you will discover the Montserrat - Coll de Can Maçana Nature Space, located in the Montserrat Mountain Nature Park, and deepen your knowledge of its geological history, from the stratigraphic analysis of its characteristic prominence to the study of erosion materials and processes. In addition, you can also find out everything you need to know for the management of a natural park like the Mountain of Montserrat by assessing the state of the forest in different transects and getting to know in detail the different management measures which have been carried out.

Session in Món Sant Benet

In this Saturday session you will discover the natural environment and the landscape that makes up the Llobregat river and its riverside forest located in the meander that forms its way through Món Sant Benet. On the one hand, you study the river ecosystem of the Llobregat river and evaluate water quality by identifying aquatic macroinvertebrates, fish and measuring different physicochemical parameters. On the other hand, you delve into the study of the riparian flora, from the identification of the main species around the river to the Mediterranean forest.

Alinyà Mountain Session

In this weekend session, you will discover the Alinyà Mountains nature area located in the Catalan Pre-Pyrenees and the only region in Europe where the four species of vultures from the European continent can easily nest and be observed: the common vulture, the bearded vulture, the black vulture and the Egyptian vulture. So you can exceptionally observe and study the feeding, behaviour and interaction between these species. In addition, you can also study the wolf and its main characteristics as a species. At the same time, learn to identify the main plant communities found in the mountains. You will also discover the archeology and study of the chiroptera in the area.

Session at MónNatura Delta de l’Ebre and Alfacada

In this weekend session you have the opportunity to get to know the natural environment of the MónNatura Delta de l’Ebre and to deepen your knowledge of the different species of birds in the area through their observation and census. At the same time, you can learn how the effects of climate change are being studied in the Delta area. In addition, a guided tour of the Alfacada Lagoon is organised in this session, one of the most important places for bird nesting, and you can get acquainted with the task of the bird scientist ringleader. Finally, you also put into practice your scientific communication skills.

Session on the Blanes coast

In this Saturday session, you will study in depth the study of the marine and plant biodiversity of the Cala de Sant Francesc de Blanes by the researchers of the Centre for Advanced Studies of Blanes (CEAB). This Saturday you can meet the main benthic coastal communities in situ, analyse their features and ecological status in the CEAB laboratory, and understand the importance of the conservation of marine biodiversity.

Session at MónNatura Pirineus

In this weekend session you immerse yourself fully in the world of nature conservation in a privileged natural environment in the middle of the Valls d'Àneu, in the Pallars Sobirà, in the MónNatura Pirineus centre. You put yourself in the shoes of the expert studying, observing and identifying the fauna, flora and microorganisms of the Pyrenees through fieldwork, the collection of biological samples and their analysis in the laboratory. You also look at and identify the nocturnal wildlife of the area, and study the reintroduction of species, such as the Pyrenean grizzly bear, by implementing the methodology currently used for species monitoring in the field.
