Talents Jazz presents the Big Band Talents Jazz concert

The 2026 edition marks a step forward in the collaborative aspect of the project. For the first time, Talents Jazz will feature a jazz big band made up of students from the three schools, under the baton of three conductors: Irene Reig (ESMUC), Oriol Vallés (Taller de Músics) and Sergi Vergés (Conservatori del Liceu).

This shared leadership will enable the young musicians to draw inspiration from different musical styles and languages, gain an in-depth understanding of the methodologies and artistic identities of the three institutions, develop their ability to adapt and listen actively, and, above all, work in harmony towards collective creation.

The Big Band will not merely be an artistic ensemble, but a space for cross-disciplinary learning and a musical experience that strengthens the links between the centres and fosters a more cohesive jazz community. This initiative reinforces the festival’s unique character and symbolises the commitment to working from a convergence of perspectives and sensibilities to offer young musicians a broad outlook and diverse influences.
