The Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation remains committed to scientific education and training for the coming generations through its summer programmes. This year, over 400 young students will have the unique opportunity to do a full immersion in the world of science and research through one of the programmes the Foundation organises.
On Thursday 15 February, the Catalan Foundation for Research and Innovation of the Catalan Ministry of Research and Universities announced the winners of the 34th annual National Research Awards, which will be presented in June.
On Monday 12 February, the Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation hosted the presentation of an IDEES issue dedicated to quantum physics and its transcendental impact on contemporary society.
The Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation launched its “Bojos per la Ciència”(Mad about Science) programme, bringing 314 baccalaureate students from all over Catalonia into 17 of the top research centres in the country. This programme, which 2,772 students have taken part in since 2013, aims to promote scientific talent and encourage students to go into science, technology and research.
A delegation from the Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation is currently in Washington, D.C., and will be visiting other cities in the United States in the coming days, as part of the International Visitor Leadership Program. The focus of this visit is the promotion of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).
