The Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation's Nature Campus held a new session in Món Sant Benet. Baccalaureate students participated in the activities to study the ecosystem and botany at the Llobregat River's meander as it flows by the Foundation's facility.

The Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation's Nature Campus has got underway. The first 30 baccalaureate students have participated in the activities scheduled during the session held at MónNatura Delta and the L’Alfacada Nature Preserve.

Despite the rain this weekend, the Delta de l’Ebre became the hub of the bird-watching world with the sixth edition of the international bird-watching festival.

The feline, which was born at MónNatura Pirineus two months ago, is from the European or Northern Lynx species, which had been extinct in this region.

This weekend, MónNatura Delta started to host a special activity for evenings this summer which will last until 14 September. With the name “Contalles del Delta” [Stories from the Delta], participants can discover the customs, traditions and food of the Delta de l’Ebre. 

As part of the European LIFE RedBosques project, a pilot test was conducted to achieve forest structures that imitate the natural dynamic of forest ecosystems and are more resilient to climate change. Yesterday, the European Commission on projects visited the park to conduct an on-the-ground assessment of the actions taken and hopes that this model can be adopted in Mediterranean forests in the European Natura 2000 Network.

More than 1,500 people attended the family festival at MónNatura Delta this weekend. The Kids’ Festival commemorated the seventh anniversary of this Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation centre in a day brimming with activities.

The activity on this invasive species, held on the occasion of Volunteer Week, will be on Saturday 1 June and aims to learn what effects it has and how it can be combatted. The Volunteers for Nature programme of the Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation has turned five years old and welcomed more than 1,600 participants.
