Bonelli's eagle

Bonelli's eagle

(Hieraaetus fasciatus)
One of our most endangered birds of prey, this Mediterranean eagle still survives on the Precoastal Mountains of Barcelona, where a few pairs still live despite the increasing human impact on the region. Puigventós provides them with plenty of food.

Partridge

Partridge

(Alectoris rufa)
A key, emblematic species in the Mediterranean ecosystem, the partridge has suffered from the effects of the degradation of open spaces, the abandonment of farming and excessive hunting. This space acts as a preserve for this bird and guarantees its conservation.

Orchids

The range of orchids can be considered quite diverse considering the size of the space. Within the general context of species endemic to Mediterranean environments, the orchids here have several unique features. Perhaps the most noteworthy one is the vast diversity of orchids which can be found here. Up to a dozen species have been cited just around the Pla del Fideuer.
