  3. The Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation organises the benchmark ornithological festival in the Mediterranean

The Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation is organising the ninth edition of the Delta Birding Festival on 22, 23 and 24 September, an annual gathering for bird enthusiasts, nature lovers, conservationists and families with a penchant for ecotourism, and the leading festival in the Western Mediterranean.

The festival is organised in collaboration with Oryx – The Nature Lover’s Shop, the Catalan Institute of Ornithology (ICO) and, for the first time this year, PhotoLogistics, as an associated organiser. This event unfolds at MónNatura Delta, the Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation’s facility located in the Ebro Delta. Across the extended weekend, a diverse array of activities and workshops suitable for all age groups are scheduled. The Delta Birding Festival encompasses guided boat trips, conferences, workshops, photographic exhibitions, bird releases and more.

In this ninth edition of the international ornithological festival, over a hundred diverse proposals are presented alongside a comprehensive fair featuring products and services for ornithologists and nature enthusiasts.

This year also marks the second edition of DBF Junior, a special section of the festival catering to children and young people. The initiative, providing a platform for young amateur ornithologists under 18 to showcase their research and discoveries, is further solidified this year.

It’s also worth mentioning that the traditional bird release, scheduled for Sunday 24 September, will be graced by actress and singer from the Ebro region, Carol Rovira.
