Cristina Fallarás wins the third edition of the María Luz Morales Journalism Award

The journalist Cristina Fallarás is the winner of the 3rd edition of the María Luz Morales Journalism Award, and the runner-up is the Italian journalist Emanuela Zuccalà. The award is sponsored by the Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation and the Cultural Gender Observatory in conjunction with the newspaper ARA, and its goal is to award journalism pieces that discuss women's empowerment and feminism.

New edition starting 15 September The chosen performers are Albert Cano Smit, a pianist with a promising international career; the renowned clarinetist Miquel Ramos; and for the first time, the tessitura of the countertenor Víctor Jiménez Díaz, who has a distinguished international career. And in composition, Raquel García-Tomàs. 

The exhibition ‘Leopoldo Pomés. Flashback’ opens in Mataró

The Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation and the Iluro Foundation present an  anthological exhibition devoted to the Barcelona-based photographer Leopoldo Pomés in Mataró. The exhibition ‘Leopoldo Pomés. Flashback’ was shown for the first time in La Pedrera’s exhibition hall in 2015. Antoni Tàpies and Teresa Gimpera, not to mention advertising campaigns for Terry and Freixenet, are just some of this photographer’s numerous pictures on display in this exhibition. With 120 works, ‘Leopoldo Pomés. Flashback’ shows a sweeping retrospective of the oeuvre of one of the indisputable touchstones in contemporary Catalan photography.

 

Unique concerts that merge music with the visual arts at La Pedrera

The concerts at La Pedrera are the culmination of this laboratory of artistic experiences, the outcome of a prior process of research, innovation and creation. The goal is to promote talented young creators like Els Jóvens, Mourn, Pavvla, Avstral, Playback Maracas and Baiuca, who are working with famous groups from the alternative visual scene this year. The family session will be held on Sunday 24 March with music by the Orchestra Fireluche and the screenings of Morgan Caney.
