Ignasi Pérez-Ràfols

He graduated in 2012 in Physics from the Universitat de Barcelona (UB), where he also completed a master's degree in Astrophysics, Particle Physics and Cosmology in 2013. In 2016, he obtained his PhD. His main line of research is the study of the intergalactic environment and cosmology. He is currently a lecturer at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), leading the study of measurements of the expansion of the universe through baryonic acoustic oscillations in the intergalactic medium. He is currently part of the leading international collaborations DESI and WEAVE, leading some of the teams. He has extensive experience in university teaching in the physics degree, in the master's degree in astrophysics and in the university program of the University of Experience. He also actively participates in outreach programs, conferences and observations aimed at different audiences, from the elderly to children in kindergarten and primary school.
