The Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation has opened a new exhibition space at MónNatura Delta, aimed at raising awareness among visitors about the fragility of the Ebro Delta, how it is evolving in the face of the climate emergency and possible solutions to mitigate its effects. The exhibition also highlights the resilience of the flora and fauna in this unique ecosystem.
The Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation, the Girona Provincial Council and the Gavarres Consortium have joined forces to reduce the risk of large-scale forest fires in the Gavarres Massif, working together on a plan to improve the resilience of the area’s woodlands.
More than one hundred experts and professionals from the sector gathered today, 6 June, at La Pedrera Auditorium for the presentation of 15 forest bioeconomy projects to be developed in Catalonia over the next two years.
On 16 May, more than one hundred experts and professionals from the sector gathered at La Pedrera Auditorium for the event Forest Fires and Forest Management: Challenges and Solutions, organised by the Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation. The event served as a platform to explore the challenges and solutions associated with sustainable forest management and fire prevention.
The Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation, together with five other organisations, is launching Bio For Piri, a forest bioeconomy project in the Pyrenees that recently got under way. Over the next two years, it will implement a series of actions aimed at reducing the risk of large-scale forest fires in two pre-Pyrenean regions: Alinyà, in Lleida, and Aínsa-Sobrarbe, in Huesca. The project’s mission is to promote the forest bioeconomy through woodland management as a solution to two of the region’s major challenges: forest fires and demographic decline.
The Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation hotel at Món Sant Benet has been awarded the Biosphere seal from the UNESCO Responsible Tourism Institute for its commitment to sustainability. This seal shows that the company or institution works towards responsible, sustainable tourism in its environment.
