The Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation presents the first monographic exhibition on Bill Viola in Barcelona

The Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation presents Bill Viola. Mirrors of the Unseen, where we will learn about the uniqueness of this artist through around 40 works, 20 of which will be on display at La Pedrera and the remainder at cultural institutions in the city and around Catalonia. The exhibition is a survey of the artist's career, from important early works such as Reflecting Pool (1977-1979), until today.

On Sunday, 15 September, the pianist Albert Cano will open the series with a chamber concert with the Cosmos Quartet. He will be followed by Víctor Jiménez, countertenor, and Miquel Ramos, clarinetist. Raquel García-Tomás, the resident composer, will create a piece for each musician which will premiere as part of La Pedrera’s concert season. With this series, the Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation supports and promotes talented young musical performers and creators.

Cristina Fallarás wins the third edition of the María Luz Morales Journalism Award

The journalist Cristina Fallarás is the winner of the 3rd edition of the María Luz Morales Journalism Award, and the runner-up is the Italian journalist Emanuela Zuccalà. The award is sponsored by the Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation and the Cultural Gender Observatory in conjunction with the newspaper ARA, and its goal is to award journalism pieces that discuss women's empowerment and feminism.

New edition starting 15 September The chosen performers are Albert Cano Smit, a pianist with a promising international career; the renowned clarinetist Miquel Ramos; and for the first time, the tessitura of the countertenor Víctor Jiménez Díaz, who has a distinguished international career.
